Filmed at his summer home on Martha’s Vineyard, this program shows Jules Feiffer at play and at work on his weekly syndicated cartoons. Feiffer traces the genesis of his character types: intellectual authority figures; macho buffoons; and, in Bernard Mergendeiler, a middle-ages “loser” who keeps on trying. The viewer gets a special treat as the artist creates a typical Feiffer cartoon strip on camera. Directed by Barrie Gavin and produced by Penny Clark.
