The Little Animator, produced by the Ink Tank studio, New York. This was a birthday gift to R.O. Blechman from the staff of The Ink Tank studios. Undated but probably from the 1980s or early 1990s. The Ink Tank produced many animated shorts for television and advertising for over 20 years. They also animated The Soldier’s Tale, Blechman’s feature length film. This is a one of a kind unique prototype boxed animation set as a gift to R.O. “Bob” Blechman who was the director of the studio. It features original zoetrope artwork by Tissa David, Seymour Chwast and Blechman himself. There is original artwork by several other artists here too but mostly unsigned. Some other staff people at The Ink Tank included Brian O'Connell , Liz Wassell , Maciek Albrecht. The Ink Tank also worked with many freelance cartoonists including Joost Swarte, Santiago Cohen and Gary Baseman. One of the zoetropes has Mickey Mouse. I’m not sure who drew that one but it is great! Other have different concepts such as a watch or the Ink Tank studio mascot / logo. The box set includes some art supplies as well as an antique “ink tank”. Comes housed in a unique box! This is authentic as I worked at the studio myself briefly in the 1990s. This is currently for sale in my eBay store.
